Provincial Coordinator Consultant – UN Joint Programme (Remote with Travel)

About the role

The UNICEF National UNJP Provincial Coordinator Consultant will serve as the focal point for the UN Joint Programme (UNJP) on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) in Bolikhamxay Province. Working remotely with periodic travel, the consultant will support the Provincial Health Office in planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting on RMNCAH activities.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate coordination among the Provincial Health Office, government counterparts, UN agencies (WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA) and development partners.
• Support capacity‑building workshops and technical assistance for provincial RMNCAH staff.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess service delivery and programme implementation.
• Prepare and submit timely reports on progress, challenges and recommendations.
• Assist in the development and updating of the provincial RMNCAH plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, medical sciences, community health or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience coordinating health programmes at provincial or district level, with a focus on reproductive, maternal and child health.
• Fluent Lao language; English proficiency is an asset.
• Familiarity with the Lao PDR health system and RMNCAH programme implementation.
