Doctoral Researcher – Entrepreneurship (PhD)

About the role

This is a salaried PhD position within the Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and New Technology (EINT) research group, focusing on quantitative and empirical entrepreneurship research under the supervision of Prof. Christian Fisch.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a cumulative, paper‑based doctoral thesis in entrepreneurship.
• Develop original, theoretically grounded research questions and construct large‑scale empirical datasets.
• Conduct quantitative analyses using reproducible research workflows and econometric methods.
• Take research projects from idea through manuscript preparation, revision, and submission.
• Present findings at top international conferences and publish in leading entrepreneurship and management journals.
• Build a professional network with academia, industry, and policy partners.
• Complete the training program of the Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management.

Required profile

• Completed or nearly completed Master’s degree in management, business administration, economics, finance or a related quantitative field.
• Advanced university‑level training in empirical research methods, statistics, and econometrics.
• Practical experience conducting empirical analysis with statistical software such as Stata, R or Python.
• Strong quantitative preparation, proactive and independent working style, and high curiosity for entrepreneurship research.
