Program Coordinator, Compliance

About the role

The Compliance Coordinator supports the company’s DOT drug and alcohol programs, driver safety initiatives, and FMCSA compliance efforts. This position works across the organization to ensure regulatory adherence and assists with broader safety and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate positions for inclusion in DOT programs and act as liaison for data and records with internal teams and third‑party vendors.
• Audit program records for regulatory compliance and assist new drivers with qualification file development.
• Communicate documentation gaps to supervisors and drivers, and generate monthly dashboards and reports with the EHS Analyst.
• Conduct FMCSA field audits, participate in general safety audits, and support PHMSA/FMSCA audit scheduling.
• Administer PHMSA and FMCSA drug and alcohol programs per 49 CFR Parts 40, 199, and 382, including random pool management and post‑accident testing.
• Update processes, regulatory plans, training materials, and verify program‑related invoices.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in safety, business, transportation, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, transportation safety, or regulatory compliance.
• Working knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 40, 199, and 382, driver qualification files, records management, and audit practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.
