Senior Award Officer

About the role

The Senior Award Officer will lead award management and donor compliance for all programmes in the Laos Country Office. Based in Vientiane, the role supports Save the Children’s commitment to high‑quality, compliant delivery of donor‑funded projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full award life‑cycle, ensuring compliance with Save the Children and donor policies.
• Provide capacity‑building and on‑the‑job support to staff and partners on award management and donor compliance.
• Maintain and update award management systems, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Conduct legal vetting and capacity assessments of sub‑grant partners before and during engagements.
• Collaborate with the Head of Awards and senior management to develop best‑practice processes and strategic guidance.
• Support technical and field teams during implementation to deliver compliant, high‑quality reports.
• Respond to major humanitarian emergencies with flexible working hours as needed.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of child safeguarding policies, code of conduct, and local procedures.
• Proven experience in award management, donor compliance, and partnership monitoring.
• Ability to build high‑performing teams and foster strong relationships with project leads, partners, and sub‑grantees.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to work across multiple functions.
