Team Leader, Lending, Markets & Trade Operations

About the role

As a Team Leader for Lending, Markets and Trade Operations you will lead a high‑performing team to deliver accurate, timely and compliant processing of lending, trade finance, treasury and regulatory reporting activities. The role focuses on risk management, strong controls and excellent customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage Lending, Trade and Markets Operations to ensure accurate, timely and compliant transaction processing.
• Oversee lending operations, including credit administration, security management, portfolio monitoring and regulatory reporting.
• Manage trade finance activities such as Letters of Credit, Collections, Guarantees and Bonds.
• Support treasury operations through deal settlements, FX earnings monitoring, rate management and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of regulatory reports, maintaining compliance with all requirements.
• Drive operational excellence by maintaining strong controls, managing non‑financial risks and adhering to ANZ policies.
• Lead, coach and develop the operations team, fostering a risk‑aware and customer‑focused culture.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes.
• Resolve audit findings, operational incidents and reconciliation exceptions promptly.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in banking operations, preferably across lending, trade finance and markets.
• Strong knowledge of international banking, trade finance products, payment systems and settlement practices.
• Good understanding of local banking regulations, risk management and compliance requirements.
• Proven leadership experience with ability to develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Understanding of credit risk principles, assessment, approval and documentation.
• Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Customer‑focused mindset with ability to handle complaints and drive improvement.
• Knowledge of global trade finance products and operational risk frameworks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
