Wildlife Health Technical Advisor

About the role

The Wildlife Conservation Society is seeking a Wildlife Health Technical Advisor to lead One Health initiatives in Lao PDR. Based in Vientiane, the role combines national coordination with regional and global technical linkages, supporting wildlife health research, surveillance, and policy implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on wildlife health to the Deputy Country Director and the Global & Regional Health Program.
• Coordinate activities with the Wildlife Health Program Manager, Laos Health Program, and national departments of Livestock, Fisheries, and Forestry.
• Liaise with research institutions, laboratories, technical partners, and donors to advance One Health objectives.
• Travel nationally, regionally, and occasionally internationally to support project implementation and capacity building.

Required profile

• Relevant technical background in wildlife health, veterinary science, epidemiology, or a related field.
• Experience working with multi‑sectoral teams and government agencies.
• Ability to operate in a multicultural environment and manage cross‑border collaborations.
