Business Development Specialist – WASH Programs

About the role

The Business Development Specialist will lead the creation and submission of proposals for new WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programming opportunities, supporting WVI Laos’ growth and impact for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept notes and full proposals in collaboration with Operations and Programme teams to secure WASH funding.
• Conduct donor mapping, monitor donor portals, and engage potential donors to identify grant and funding sources aligned with the national strategy.
• Coordinate proposal packaging, ensuring quality reviews and compliance with donor evaluation standards.
• Liaise with Support Offices and Regional Grant Acquisition teams to align with GAM policies, reporting, and business planning.
• Maintain accurate GAM data in iMPAQ, record all acquisition documentation, and support audit processes with the Finance team.
• Represent WVI Laos externally as assigned, ensuring child safeguarding and compliance with organisational policies.

Required profile

• Experience in proposal development and donor engagement, preferably in WASH or humanitarian sectors.
• Strong understanding of grant acquisition policies, compliance requirements, and reporting standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with programme, operations, and senior leadership teams.
• Excellent communication skills for internal coordination and external representation.
