Communications Officer

About the role

The Communications Officer will support the UNICEF‑funded Wasting Prevention and Treatment Programme in Laos, translating nutrition and health information into engaging content and ensuring visibility of programme achievements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy, communication, visibility, documentation, and knowledge‑management activities for the programme.
• Produce communication materials (briefs, stories, social media posts, reports) that meet UNICEF visibility requirements and Save the Children standards.
• Collaborate with senior communications staff, programme, technical, MEAL, supply‑chain and operations teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Engage government partners, community stakeholders, and donors to share lessons learned and impact.
• Provide communications support during humanitarian emergencies and work flexible hours as needed.
• Uphold Child Safeguarding Policy and report any concerns.

Required profile

• Experience in communications, preferably within health, nutrition or international development.
• Strong ability to create clear, audience‑appropriate content from technical information.
• Familiarity with UNICEF visibility guidelines and donor communication standards.
• Commitment to child safeguarding and ethical conduct.
