Communications Officer – UNICEF‑Funded Nutrition Programme

About the role

The Communications Officer will support a UNICEF‑funded Wasting Prevention and Treatment Programme in Laos, working closely with Save the Children International, the Ministry of Health and other partners. Based in Vientiane Capital, the role translates nutrition and health information into engaging communication products and ensures visibility compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy, communication and visibility activities for the programme.
• Document and share programme achievements, lessons learned and community impact with government partners, UNICEF and other stakeholders.
• Produce accessible communication materials (briefs, stories, infographics, videos) in line with UNICEF visibility requirements and Save the Children standards.
• Collaborate with senior communications staff, technical, MEAL, supply chain and operations teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Provide communications support during major humanitarian emergencies, including flexible working hours as needed.

Required profile

• Understanding of child safeguarding policies and code of conduct.
• Experience working in international development, health or nutrition programmes is preferred.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Familiarity with DHIS2 data management systems.
