Communications Officer – Wasting Prevention Programme

About the role

We are seeking a Communications Officer to join the UNICEF‑funded Wasting Prevention and Treatment Programme in Vientiane, Laos. The role will support advocacy, visibility, documentation and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring programme achievements are effectively communicated to partners and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and visibility materials aligned with UNICEF and Save the Children standards.
• Document programme outcomes, lessons learned and impact stories for dissemination.
• Coordinate with senior communications staff, programme, technical, MEAL, supply‑chain and operations teams to translate nutrition and health information into accessible content.
• Support emergency communications and flexible working hours as needed.
• Ensure compliance with child safeguarding policies and organisational codes of conduct.

Required profile

• Understanding of child safeguarding policies and ability to act in accordance with them.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably in nutrition or health programmes.
• Strong collaboration skills with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in creating communication products (briefs, fact‑sheets, social media posts, videos).
• Familiarity with UNICEF visibility requirements and Save the Children communication standards.
