Packaging Manager

About the role

The Packaging Manager leads the packaging department, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food safety and hygiene standards while driving operational excellence. This senior position is part of the site senior management team and contributes to long‑term strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead people management, including performance appraisals, development of direct reports, and alignment of resource plans with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, food safety, hygiene, and union/worker council agreements.
• Oversee department budgeting (OPEX and CAPEX) and set/manage KPIs such as OEE, loss, and pack quality.
• Maintain and improve packaging standards through standard work processes, training, and problem‑solving methodologies.
• Provide packaging input to the site Long Term Development Plan and support Carlsberg excellence initiatives.
• Own the Autonomous Maintenance pillar and sign off weekly packaging and maintenance plans.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or a technical equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of production experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role within a high‑speed packaging environment.
• Proven track record in people development, budget management and delivering performance improvements using Carlsberg Excellence methodology.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
