Primary School English Teacher (GS‑CM2) – Part‑time

About the role

We are launching an Australian International Section and need a dedicated English teacher for primary‑school classes ranging from Grande Section (GS) to CM2. The role is part‑time, focused on delivering the French Ministry of Education curriculum while integrating Australian cultural content.

Key responsibilities

• Teach English to GS‑CM2 pupils in line with the French national curriculum.
• Design and deliver progressive lesson sequences for each level.
• Co‑teach using the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach alongside a French‑speaking teacher.
• Introduce Australian children’s literature to raise cultural awareness.
• Assess pupils and monitor their English progress.
• Participate in school life and support the development of the Australian International Section.
• Collaborate with class teachers, the SIA coordinator, and school management to ensure consistency.

Required profile

• Native English speaker or extensive lived/studied experience in Australia.
• Good knowledge of English‑speaking culture and the French education system.
• Experience teaching young children (GS‑CM2) is preferred.
• Interest in the French national curriculum.
• Comfortable with team‑based co‑teaching (CLIL).
• Teaching‑related qualification (e.g., teaching degree, CELTA/TESOL, relevant bachelor’s or master’s) is an advantage.
• Pedagogical creativity, adaptability and initiative, especially for a new programme.

What we offer

• 10 hours per week on a part‑time hourly contract.
• Potential increase in hours or contract change in the following school year, depending on programme development.
