Project Adviser (BOOST) – Lao PDR

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a Project Adviser to support the BOOST (Building Opportunities for Sustainable Trade) project in Lao PDR. Based in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce office in Vientiane, the adviser will help strengthen public‑private coordination, build export capacity of companies, and address gaps in international trade regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and facilitate training programmes, workshops and other project activities.
• Identify and select participants/trainees to maximise impact.
• Contribute to the design, quality assurance and implementation of project interventions.
• Monitor project progress, prepare reports and ensure compliance with EU and ASEAN trade standards.
• Coordinate with the Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP) in Geneva, the Project Team Leader in Vientiane, and key business‑support organisations such as the European Chamber of Commerce and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce.
• Travel within Lao PDR and, when required, to regional locations.

Required profile

• Experience in managing development or trade‑related projects, preferably with international donors.
• Familiarity with EU, ASEAN and international trade regulations and standards.
• Ability to work under the guidance of senior project managers and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the country and region.
