Project Manager – Nutrition

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager – Nutrition to lead the implementation of a multi‑year Wasting Prevention and Treatment Programme in Vientiane, Laos. The role will coordinate closely with UNICEF, the Ministry of Health and Save the Children International to improve maternal and child nutrition across high‑burden provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall programme implementation, ensuring alignment with UNICEF agreements, national policies (NPAN, RMNCAH) and organisational procedures.
• Supervise project staff, set up and manage the PRIME system, and coordinate with technical, MERL, operations and finance teams.
• Strengthen coordination and partnerships with the Ministry of Health at national, provincial and district levels, as well as with UNICEF and other stakeholders.
• Develop and execute detailed action plans, overseeing community‑ and facility‑based nutrition activities.
• Maintain robust monitoring systems and produce high‑quality reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) to meet donor requirements.
• Promote adaptive management through performance tracking, data use and documentation of lessons learned.
• Respond to major humanitarian emergencies, adjusting working hours and duties as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in managing nutrition or health programmes in low‑resource settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government ministries, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Strong understanding of community‑ and facility‑based nutrition services, including IMAM, GMP and outreach.
• Experience with data systems such as DHIS2 is an advantage.
