Senior Award Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Award Officer to join our team in Vientiane Capital. The role will lead award management and donor compliance across the Laos country office, ensuring high‑quality delivery and adherence to Save the Children standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full award life‑cycle, from award set‑up to close‑out, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
• Provide capacity‑building and on‑the‑job support to staff and partners on award management and donor compliance processes.
• Maintain and update award management systems, ensuring data quality and timely reporting.
• Conduct legal vetting and capacity assessments of sub‑grant partners, establishing appropriate agreements and monitoring mechanisms.
• Collaborate with the Head of Awards and cross‑functional teams to develop best‑practice processes and tools.
• Support technical and field teams during implementation to produce accurate, timely donor reports.
• Respond to humanitarian emergencies, adapting working hours and duties as needed.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of award management, donor compliance and grant administration.
• Experience in capacity building, legal vetting, and partnership monitoring.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with internal teams and external partners.
• Commitment to child safeguarding policies and ethical conduct.
