Senior Contract Officer – Mining Procurement

About the role

The Senior Contract Officer will lead end‑to‑end sourcing, negotiation, execution and oversight of contracts for goods, works and services supporting LXML’s mining operations in Lao PDR. The role ensures value, quality, compliance and risk control while working closely with legal, finance, technical and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, screen and onboard reliable suppliers and contractors that meet technical, commercial, HSE and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, issue and manage RFPs, RFQs, tenders and evaluate bids against pricing, quality, delivery, technical capability and risk criteria.
• Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, performance standards, warranties and liability.
• Conduct full‑cycle contractor management, including pre‑award, post‑award processes and dispute resolution.
• Maintain accurate contract records, correspondence, invoice verification and payment tracking.
• Provide market intelligence, cost benchmarking and support policy improvement for procurement and contract management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Commercial Management, Supply Chain, Project Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive experience in contract management or procurement, preferably in mining, large‑scale infrastructure or heavy industry.
• Proven experience in contractor selection, performance management and risk control.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) for negotiations and documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
