Trading Manager – Physical Commodities (Laos)

About the role

The institution is looking for a Trading Manager to lead its physical commodities trading activities across Laos and international markets. You will be responsible for sourcing, analysing and executing profitable trades while aligning with the company’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new trading opportunities across product categories such as coffee, mining products and other high‑potential goods.
• Analyse potential deals with focus on profit margins, inventory turnover and business cycles.
• Manage gross profit and margin targets, ensuring budgeted profitability is met or exceeded.
• Oversee daily trading operations, including product selection, portfolio management, transaction execution and risk mitigation.
• Conduct weekly, monthly and seasonal sales analysis to guide tactical and strategic decisions.
• Select products for promotional campaigns based on performance metrics.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline import‑export processes and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on trading outcomes and market trends.
• Travel frequently within Laos and abroad to build relationships with suppliers, buyers and partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commodity or physical goods trading.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret sales data and market dynamics.
• Capacity to manage profit targets and drive results across multiple markets.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel regularly for relationship building and market research.
