Transmission Line Supervisor – 500 kV Overhead Project

About the role

AFRY is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Supervisor to act as the Owner’s Engineer on a 500 kV double‑circuit overhead transmission line project in Lao PDR. The role is site‑based and responsible for overseeing construction, ensuring safety, quality and compliance with international and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all construction activities including foundations, tower erection, conductor stringing, OPGW installation, testing and commissioning.
• Monitor contractor performance, progress and adherence to approved drawings, specifications and construction methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE requirements, IFC/World Bank EHS Guidelines, IEC standards and Lao regulations.
• Conduct site inspections, witness testing, identify non‑conformities and support corrective actions.
• Track project progress, verify quantities, identify risks and assist in mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, clients and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly site reports, NCRs, safety observations and project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil or Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in transmission line construction or supervision.
• Proven experience on at least two overhead transmission line projects of 500 kV or higher.
• Experience with long‑distance (≥150 km) projects and mountainous terrain is highly preferred.
