Lao-English Interpreter – Remote (Night Shift)

About the role

This position is for a Lao‑English interpreter working 100% from home in Laos. The role involves consecutive interpretation for live conversations across various sectors, primarily during night‑shift hours that rotate monthly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation for telephone or video calls between English‑speaking and Lao‑speaking participants.
• Interpret across diverse topics such as healthcare, finance, government, emergency services, and general business.
• Maintain accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
• Follow client instructions closely and explain cultural concepts when required.

Required profile

• Excellent listening, note‑taking, and retention abilities.
• Ability to stay detached, neutral, and objective throughout conversations.
• B2 CEFR English proficiency and native fluency in Lao.
• Strong concentration skills and capacity to work independently from home.
• Willingness to work night‑shift hours with a minimum of 40 online hours per week.
