Maintenance Manager

About the role

ALS, a global provider of testing and analytical services, is looking for a Maintenance Manager for its Vientiane office. The role leads the maintenance function across facilities, equipment, vehicles, utilities and infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, compliant and cost-effective operations through preventive maintenance, asset management, technical support and continuous improvement. Lao nationals are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance team, technicians, contractors and service providers.
• Develop and run preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Keep maintenance records up to date to meet ISO 17025 accreditation and manage the computerized maintenance management system (work orders, asset records, schedules).
• Prioritize breakdowns and repairs, coordinate installations, commissioning, calibration, upgrades and decommissioning, and prepare maintenance budgets and quotations.
• Monitor costs, downtime, response times and asset performance, and lead root-cause investigations of recurring failures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality and legislative requirements, including permit-to-work, isolation and lockout/tagout.
• Maintain critical spares, tools, drawings and manuals, support audits and risk assessments, and coach and performance-manage staff.

Required profile

• Diploma, degree or trade qualification in mechanical, electrical, industrial or maintenance engineering.
• Maintenance or asset-management experience, preferably in a laboratory, industrial, mining, manufacturing or technical-services setting.
• Experience managing maintenance teams and contractors, and project management experience.
• Knowledge of calibration programs and laboratory or analytical equipment.
• Eligible to work in Laos (citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid working visa).
