National Immunization Consultant (12‑month contract)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National Immunization Consultant to support Lao PDR’s immunization programme for a 12‑month period. The consultant will work from the office in Vientiane with travel to provincial and district sites, providing technical assistance to strengthen planning, implementation, monitoring and performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Translate immunization data and evidence into practical actions to close coverage and equity gaps.
• Support micro‑planning, supportive supervision and implementation of routine immunization and supplementary campaigns (MR/HPV, EPI).
• Assist with outbreak preparedness and response for polio, measles and other vaccine‑preventable diseases.
• Mentor and train national and sub‑national health teams, fostering data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medicine, public health or related field (master’s preferred).
• 5–7 years of experience in national or sub‑national immunization programmes.
• Demonstrated experience in routine immunization planning, monitoring and performance improvement.
• Proficiency in English and Lao.
