PhD Position in Agentic AI in Computational Modeling

About the role

This PhD focuses on developing agentic AI systems that automate the creation and execution of computer simulations for computational science and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop agentic AI systems for computational modeling.
• Automate the development and execution of computer simulations.
• Work toward largely autonomous systems for computational modeling.
• Apply methods in computational science and engineering across material science, biomedical engineering, process engineering, and environmental research.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team and communicate findings in English.

Required profile

• Master's degree in computational engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field.
• Strong theoretical foundations in engineering, science, and applied mathematics.
• Very good Python programming skills, ideally C++, and proven code development experience.
• Strong English scientific communication skills.
• Prior knowledge of ontologies, knowledge graphs, or robotics is advantageous but not mandatory.
