Regional HR Officer – South East Asia

About the role

The Fondation Mérieux is creating a new Regional HR Officer position for South East Asia, based in Vientiane, Laos. The role will manage HR administration, payroll and employee support across Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar while collaborating closely with the HR team at the headquarters in France.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day HR operations for the three countries, ensuring compliance with local labour legislation and donor requirements.
• Administer payroll and personnel records, guaranteeing accuracy and timely processing.
• Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on HR policies, procedures and employee relations matters.
• Coordinate with the HR Director in France and the Regional Director to align regional HR practices with organisational standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and compliance frameworks across the region.

Required profile

• Experience in HR administration within a multi‑country environment, preferably in South East Asia.
• Strong knowledge of labour laws in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
• Ability to manage payroll and personnel administration accurately.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Based in Vientiane and able to work onsite.
