Long-Term Train Ticket Booking Consultant for UNICEF Lao PDR

About the role

UNICEF Lao PDR seeks a consultant to provide long‑term support for train ticket booking and coordination for its official travel needs. The consultant will act as a reliable pool of services, ensuring timely, cost‑effective rail travel for staff, partners and delegations across Lao PDR and neighboring countries.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate train ticket bookings for UNICEF personnel, partners and visiting delegations.
• Handle urgent and short‑notice travel requests, securing seats on the same train and class when possible.
• Coordinate with railway platforms and local agencies to obtain market‑competitive rates.
• Manage group bookings for donor visits, workshops, missions and official delegations.
• Maintain accurate records of bookings, costs and travel itineraries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in travel or transport booking services, preferably with rail travel.
• Familiarity with Lao and regional railway networks, including the Lao‑China Railway.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle large group reservations.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Experience using railway reservation or ticketing platforms.
• Knowledge of cost‑effective ticket procurement and market pricing.
