Provincial Coordinator Consultant – UNJP (Remote with Travel)

About the role

The consultant will provide technical and coordination support to the Provincial Health Office in Bolikhamxay Province for the UN Joint Programme (UNJP) on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH). Working remotely with periodic travel, the role ensures effective planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the provincial RMNCAH plan.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for UNJP activities at the provincial level.
• Facilitate coordination among the Provincial Health Office, Lao government counterparts, UN agencies (WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA) and development partners.
• Support capacity‑building initiatives for provincial staff and partners.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess service delivery and programme implementation.
• Prepare and submit timely reports on progress, challenges and results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, medical sciences, community health or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience planning and coordinating health programmes at provincial or district level, with a focus on reproductive, maternal and child health.
• Fluent Lao language; English proficiency is an asset.
• Familiarity with the Lao PDR health system and RMNCAH programme implementation.
