Director of Sales

About the role

The Director of Sales will lead the sales strategy for Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel, driving revenue across corporate, government, MICE, leisure, wholesale and event segments. You will be responsible for maximizing room, banquet and other revenue streams while strengthening the hotel’s market position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual sales and business development strategy.
• Achieve budgeted room, banquet and ancillary revenue targets.
• Identify new market segments and business opportunities.
• Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimise pricing and distribution.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate accounts, government agencies, travel partners and event organisers.
• Negotiate contracts to maximise profitability.
• Lead, coach and develop the sales team to meet individual and departmental goals.
• Monitor sales productivity, provide feedback and foster a high‑performance culture.
• Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows and networking activities.
• Prepare sales plans, budgets, forecasts and regular performance reports for senior management.
• Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Finance and Revenue Management to align commercial strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading sales strategy and revenue generation in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage corporate, government, MICE and leisure accounts.
• Strong track record of achieving budgeted revenue targets.
• Leadership experience in coaching and developing a sales team.
• Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyse market data and adjust strategies accordingly.
