Heavy Equipment Technical Trainer

About the role

Phu Bia Mining Limited is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technical Trainer to support the preventive and breakdown maintenance of a large mobile mining fleet. Reporting to the Senior Mobile Maintenance Specialist, you will lead training, mentoring and hands‑on support for local staff in a multicultural, fly‑in‑fly‑out environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on technical support, development, mentoring, training and guidance to local field staff.
• Assist Lao supervisors with breakdown maintenance and planned maintenance activities.
• Promote ethical, responsible day‑to‑day practices aligned with recognised best practices.
• Foster a culture focused on best‑practice maintenance and safety outcomes.
• Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory codes, regulations and standards related to maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Mechanical trade qualification.
• Significant experience working with open‑pit mining fleets.
• Hands‑on experience with Caterpillar and Komatsu mining equipment.
• Strong understanding of mobile maintenance planning and execution.
• Proven success in training and developing staff in a developing‑country context.
• Commitment to the growth of Lao national employees and an unwavering safety focus.
