International Consultant – VBG Analysis & Mapping in Schools

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an International Consultant to lead the analysis and mapping of violence based on gender (VBG) within school environments in Lao PDR. The assignment is part of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Tech4Ed initiative and will run for ten months, combining office‑based work with field travel.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive data collection, analysis and geographic mapping of VBG incidents in schools.
• Support the design and implementation of technical assistance activities under the Tech4Ed programme.
• Collaborate with the Ministry of Education and Sports, EdTech Hub and other key stakeholders to integrate findings into policy and practice.
• Prepare detailed reports, visualisations and recommendations to improve education quality, inclusion and safety.
• Provide capacity‑building support to local partners and contribute to cross‑sectoral coordination efforts.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in education, social sciences, public health or a related field.
• Proven experience in VBG research, school‑based assessments and data‑driven mapping.
• Familiarity with international development contexts and multi‑stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to travel within Lao PDR and work both independently and in teams.
