International Digital Education Consultant (GPETech4Ed - office based with travel)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an International Digital Education Consultant to support the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Technology for Education (Tech4Ed) initiative in Lao PDR. The consultant will work from the Vientiane office and travel as needed to engage with the Ministry of Education and Sports and other key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design and implement the Tech4Ed technical assistance initiative in partnership with GPE, EdTech Hub, and the Ministry of Education and Sports.
• Provide technical, policy and cross‑sectoral assistance to embed or scale technology within the Lao education system.
• Strengthen the capacity of government, non‑government and private sector partners to use technology for improving education access and learning outcomes.
• Support the GPETech4Ed work plan development, monitoring and reporting in line with the GPE Secretariat approval.
• Facilitate multi‑sectoral stakeholder engagement at national and sub‑national levels.

Required profile

• Consultancy experience in digital education transformation.
• Familiarity with education systems and policy processes in low‑ and middle‑income contexts.
• Ability to work onsite in Vientiane and travel within Lao PDR.
