Project Team Leader – Sustainable Trade (IICA 3)

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a Project Team Leader to drive the implementation of the BOOST (Building Opportunities for Sustainable Trade) project in Lao PDR. This one‑year consultancy will coordinate activities that enhance EU‑Lao trade, promote sustainable business practices, and align local companies with EU environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and balance implementation across the three project outputs: public‑private coordination, company capacity building, and regulatory gap analysis.
• Work under the guidance of the Chief of the Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP) and the Project Manager, both based in Geneva.
• Engage with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lao PDR, and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
• Facilitate travel within Lao PDR and, when required, to regional or international locations.
• Monitor progress, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with EU due‑diligence frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing development or trade‑related projects.
• Strong understanding of EU trade regulations, sustainability standards, and ASEAN trade frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder coordination skills, with ability to work across government and private sectors.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Lao PDR and potentially abroad.
