Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Specialist

About the role

World Vision International Lao PDR is seeking a Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Specialist to lead the design and implementation of GEDSI and Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) strategies across its projects. The role focuses on building capacity of team members and partners, mainstreaming gender considerations, and ensuring inclusive market‑system programming in Soukouma District, Champasak Province.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the GEDSI strategy for the BASIN Laos program, coordinating with government, private sector, OPDs and technical teams.
• Design training materials on Gender‑Inclusive Financial Literacy (GIFT) and MenCare, and deliver capacity‑building sessions for beneficiaries and partners.
• Serve as the focal point for GEDSI/WEE implementation, providing technical back‑stopping and guidance throughout the project cycle.
• Integrate GEDSI and WEE indicators into monitoring, evaluation and quality‑assurance processes.
• Collaborate with other technical staff to align methodologies and promote inclusive value‑chain development and market‑systems approaches.

Required profile

• Significant experience in gender equality, disability inclusion, women’s economic empowerment, value‑chain development and inclusive market‑systems programming.
• Demonstrated ability to work in Lao PDR, preferably with knowledge of Soukouma District or Champasak Province.
• Strong analytical and facilitation skills to support capacity building and strategic planning.
