National Health Project Officer

About the role

The National Health Project Officer will support the implementation of migrant health activities in Lao PDR, acting as a focal point for health‑related projects and coordinating with government and partner organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Support overall implementation of migrant health activities in Lao PDR.
• Serve as focal point for health projects, liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and donors.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field, or Bachelor’s degree with two years relevant experience.
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs; working with migrants, refugees, IDPs, trafficking victims or other vulnerable groups.
• Ability to interpret programme, public health and surveillance data for evidence‑based planning and reporting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of public health systems, health security, disease prevention and control, emergency preparedness and response.
• Understanding of International Health Regulations (IHR 2005), One Health approaches, pandemic preparedness and global health security initiatives.
• Familiarity with migration health, border health and the public health dimensions of migration.
