SPOON Project Manager (Nutrition & Health System Strengthening)

About the role

The SPOON Project Manager will lead the implementation of a 33‑month nutrition and health system strengthening project in Savannakhet province, Laos, in partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Health. The role ensures high‑quality delivery, coordination with government and partners, and achievement of project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of three, producing action plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality implementation across 15 districts.
• Provide technical leadership for maternal nutrition, IMAM/CMAM, growth monitoring, complementary feeding, and food‑based solutions.
• Prepare accurate quarterly and annual donor and government reports, manage M&E systems, and conduct data quality checks.
• Work closely with finance to monitor project finances, approve expenses within authority limits, and manage budget forecasts.
• Represent the project in national and provincial coordination meetings, collaborate with UNICEF, government counterparts, and other partners.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience implementing health and nutrition programmes, preferably with an international NGO.
• Demonstrated experience in maternal nutrition, MIYCN/IYCF, wasting prevention/treatment, and health system strengthening.
• 5‑8 years of project or grant management experience with strong leadership and team‑management skills.
• Proven coordination experience with government, UNICEF, and development partners at provincial and national levels.

Required skills

• Strong project planning, budgeting, monitoring, and donor‑reporting skills.
• Competent IT skills for developing monitoring tools and managing data.
