Senior Finance Officer

About the role

The Senior Finance Officer supports the Head of Finance and Accounting in leading financial operations, reporting, compliance, and capacity building for WWF Laos. The role ensures timely and accurate financial management across programmes and supervises finance staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes and prepare consolidation packs for WWF International.
• Manage banking and payment processes, approve I‑Banking transactions and supervise cash‑flow monitoring.
• Update and deliver orientation and training materials for finance systems, policies and procedures.
• Record payroll and office cost recovery in Oracle, and manage tax reporting and compliance.
• Prepare reports for government, internal and statutory audits, and act as tax focal point.
• Supervise Operational Finance Officers and deliver capacity‑building activities for finance and non‑finance colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an accountant, finance assistant or bookkeeper.
• Proficient oral and written English.
• Knowledge of local finance and accounting standards and basic understanding of international standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Oracle accounting software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
