Driver (G-2) – Fixed Term at UNICEF

About the role

UNICEF in Vientiane is seeking an experienced Lao national to provide safe and reliable driving services for its Country Office. The driver will ensure compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols while supporting office operations during idle periods.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable transportation for staff and official trips, adhering to traffic regulations and UNICEF standards.
• Perform routine vehicle care, maintenance, and readiness checks, and document trips using digital tracking tools.
• Maintain trip documentation and reporting, and be prepared for emergency communication.
• Support office operations during non‑driving periods, including basic administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Secondary education with a valid Lao driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Minimum two years of driving experience in an international organization, embassy, or UN system.
• Fluency in Lao and intermediate English.
• High sense of responsibility, professionalism, and ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Required skills

• Vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Defensive driving and familiarity with local roads.
• Use of digital tools for trip tracking and reporting.
