Sample Preparer – Laboratory Technician

About the role

ALS is looking for a Sample Preparer to join its laboratory team in Champasak province, Laos. The role involves preparing, organizing, and managing sample forms according to client specifications and ensuring quality throughout the process.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange and label sample forms according to client templates and store them in the GEMS system.
• Operate various sample preparation equipment, follow temperature‑controlled protocols, and record weight measurements.
• Separate, dry, and store samples as instructed, and report any issues such as broken forms or equipment failures to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain and clean equipment, ensure a tidy work environment, and perform additional tasks as directed by team leaders.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education with strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Experience in sample preparation or related laboratory work is preferred.
• Ability to work accurately in a team, follow written instructions, and communicate in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with sample preparation equipment and measurement tools.
• Basic computer skills, including use of the GEMS laboratory information system.
